Maldives has reported 20 new cases of coronavirus, as well as over 100 additional recoveries, on Wednesday.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) tweeted that the new cases include 16 locals and four Bangladeshi nationals. Three children under 10 are among the cases reported on Wednesday, while the remaining are between the ages of 14 and 53.
This brings Maldives’ Covid-19 total to 1,962.
With the additional 111 recoveries announced on Wednesday, a total of 1,121 people have recovered in the country thus far.
Further, there are currently 825 active cases in the island nation. There have been eight Covid-19 related deaths thus far. A total of 932 people are in isolation facilities, with 398 in quarantine facilities.
While Maldives’s first Covid-19 case was detected from a resort on March 7, a community spread was confirmed over a month later on April 15.
