14 employees at Maldive Gas has tested positive for Covid-19 and 20 others have been isolated.
Maldives Gas’ Managing Director, Ali Ikram revealed this during an interview on RaajjeTV’s Covid-19 coverage on Tuesday night.
Noting that all are expatriate workers that were active in deliveries to households, Ikram said that this led to some hindrances in their services but that this has since been resolved.
Gas cylinders are now being delivered to the ground floor of buildings and customers have been asked to bring empty cylinders to the ground floor as well. Different procedures are followed in buildings under quarantine, and empty cylinders from these areas are to be collected after the quarantine period.
The MD further said that employees are currently working in two shifts, and are given a 10-day leave after working for the same period.
He further said that the company has established a list of procedures for a new normal, and that this will be publicized this week.
