The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has revealed that monitoring measures have been lifted for two islands in Shaviyani atoll.

A number of islands in the atoll were brought under monitoring after a number of passengers onboard “Amaaz” and “Kaaviya” boat tested positive for the wide-spreading Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) infection.

12 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed from Narudhoo and Milandhoo islands of the atoll, out of which 11 are from Narudhoo, where the captain of “Amaaz” boat is native to. The captain tested positive for Covid-19 after carrying about 98 passengers to a number of islands, from April 15 – 16.
