Everyone coming in through entry points will be screened for fever
Changes have been brought to all entry points of the hospital since 1 March

State-run Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has begun entrance screening as a precautionary measure against the fast-spreading Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).

The hospital revealed that all arrivals and patients will be screened for fever at the entrance of the hospital as part of this measure.

This is among several measures being implemented by the hospital including training their staff and holding information sessions on handling and processing specimen associated with the infectious virus.

Changes have been brought to all entry points of the hospital since 1 March.

Those seeking treatment from the emergency room are required to first go to the primary triage where they will be given instructions on how to proceed.

Further, IGMH revealed that those who wish to visit the emergency room, cardiac center and wards are required to use the back door located in the outlying road. However, those seeking services from the laboratory may enter through the main entrance.

The hospital has apologized from the public for any inconveniences caused. This comes at a time authorities have been urging the public to cooperate with the instructions and regulations as well as measures being implemented by the authorities in order to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the entire country.

Dharumavantha Hospital adjacent to IGMH is where some of the positive patients are acquiring treatment. All 13 confirmed cases came from foreigners in resorts and they are reported to be in good condition thus far.
