EC membership: committee seeks public opinion on president's nominees
While the nominees were forwarded to Majlis, they were sent to independent institutions' committee for further review

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s nominations for the Elections Commission is open for public opinion.
While the four nominees were forwarded to the People’s Majlis, they were forwarded to the committee on independent institutions for further review.
The committee decided to seek public opinion on the nominations, as per clause 201 (d) of the Majlis regulations.
The president’s nominees as per order are; Ahmed Akram, Ahmed Fayal Hassan, Maryam Haneefa Khalid and Ahmed Mansoor.
Any complaints or issues regarding the nominees are to be sent through letter of e-mail,committee@majlis.gov.mv, before 2pm next Sunday.
While Akram’s name is at the top of the list, the commission is seeking a new member as Akram’s current term will end on March 23.
He was appointed as the commission’s vice president last November.
