Minister of Tourism, Ali Waheed has made history by being the "number one" minister to deliver justice without considering political views, says MP for Kaashidhoo constituency and leader of Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP), Abdulla Jabir.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday evening, MP Jabir heavily praised the Tourism Minister, writing that he had worked in the resort industry as a businessman for a long period of time, and that he has seen a lot of ministers during his time.

As such, he stated that Minister Waheed has made history in delivering justice without considering one’s political beliefs and ideologies.

This comes at a time the minister has come under fire for alleged videos where Waheed is heard making derogatory remarks about colleagues Transport Minister Aishath Nahula, Education Minister Aishath Ali and Health Minister Abdulla Ameen.

Although Waheed claims that the audios are "fake" and an attempt to defame him, Nahula is to have confronted him over the defaming remarks.

Police has launched an investigation into the audios over a sexual misconduct issue in one of the leaked clips.
