Threats against RaajjeTV
No arrests made over threats to RaajjeTV
Police say investigations are underway
Station continues to receive regular threats

Maldives Police Service (MPS) says that no arrests have been made in connection to the threats made on RaajjeTV over the reportage of Faafu Atoll.

Police media official on Sunday reported that no arrests had been made, but the investigations were underway.

Threats were made to the station, prior to the station’s journalists were scheduled to depart to Faafu Atoll for coverage. The heavily derogatory threats warned the station to keep its crew off the island, threatening to ‘kill’ them as soon as they step on. The protest coverage had progressed in spite of the threats.

RaajjeTV has stated that the channel will continue on reportage of events key to public interest, in spite of the threats to the station.
