Police have confirmed that the 26-year-old that died in an accident in capital Malé City on Saturday night, had deliberately crashed into another motorcycle.
The police service said that the accident took place on Buruzu Magu at around 10:30pm, and confirmed that one of the motorcycles involved in the crash had purposely crashed into the other.
The driver that caused the accident, Mohamed Mid'hath, sustained serious injuries and died while receiving treatment at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) later in the night.
While he was traveling alone, two were traveling on the other motorcycle; a 31-year-old man was driving with a 22-year-old female passenger.
Police said that neither of the drivers had a valid driver's license.
The case is being investigated by the police.
