Second Division: JJ hopeful of making second round after beating U-19 team

JJ Sports Club has reinvigorated the team’s hopes for making the second round of the ongoing Second Division Football Tournament, after beating the National Under-19 team.
JJ players took the match held at the Galolhu Football Stadium, 1 – 0.
Both teams put up an equal struggle into the beginning of the match, with several wasted golden opportunities to score for the JJ team.
At the 39th minute of the game, JJ’s Ahmed Hunaif scored the winning goal for the team.
Although neither team was able to score for the rest of the game, JJ got plenty of chances to score, to no avail.
Despite having strengthened their attacks and gone on the offensive into the beginning of the second half, the National U-19 team was unable to score at JJ’s goal keeper having thwarted every attempt.
JJ’s coach Assad Abdul Ghanee expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance during the match, he however added that had the team succeeded at scoring during the several failed attempts, the score would have been better.
During its first match of the tournament, JJ emerged victorious against Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) with a score of 3 – 1.
