The 300-member delegation from main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has begun its Thiladhunmathi atoll tour.
While the delegation is set to visit all islands in the biggest administrative area of Maldives consisting of Haa Dhaal and Haa Alif atolls, the trip began at 04:30pm on Sunday on a Kulhudhuffushi boat.
The delegation of the party’s leadership led by Speaker and Former President Mohamed Nasheed, along with parliamentarians representing the constituencies will be attending the Northern Conference, which Speaker Nasheed will inaugurate in Kulhudhuffushi City.
On Monday, the delegation will be headed to Ihavandhoo, Haa Alif atoll followed by Hoarafushi, Kelaa, Baarah and Dhidhdhoo.
After that, the delegation will head to Hanimaadhoo, Haa Dhaal atoll, following by Nolhivaram, Kumudhoo, Vaikaradhoo and Kulhudhuffushi City.
The purpose of the trip is to meet with residents of Thiladhunmathi, said MDP.
While preparations for the upcoming Local Council Elections are currently underway, campaigns for the upcoming Local Council Elections 2020 is also set to commence throughout the trip.
