President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has extended his sympathies following the death of Oman’s Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.
The president expressed his condolences via Twitter on Saturday afternoon, stating that the Sultan was a visionary statesman largely responsible for Oman's development and wealth.
He further highlighted that the Sultan played a role in facilitating peace in the Middle-East as well as other regions of the world.
The president concluded with a prayer for the Sultan.
Oman’s Sultan Qaboos governed the country for over 50 years, making him one of the longest-serving rulers in the Middle-East.
The Sultan was 79 years old at the time of his death on Friday, January 10th.
