Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested three people in possession of alcohol at Gan island of Laamu atoll.
According to the authorities, they were apprehended on Tuesday night at 09:00 pm in a joint operation by police intelligence and the police department of Gan island.
Authorities reveal that a total of four Maldivians were arrested. They were three men of 22 years, 33 years, and 40 years of age and one 16-year-old girl.
They were caught with a 500ml bottle of alcohol.
The incident is currently undergoing further investigation by authorities.
