A Turkish man was attacked in capital city Malé’s suburban extension Hulhumalé on Saturday night.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) offers were active at the scene of the crime when the 33-year-old Turk was attacked, and the attack took place where two roads, Nirolhu Magu and Bokarumaa Hingun meet.
Police reported that the man, employed in the Maldives, had stab wounds on his chest and shoulder, he also had wounds on his face.
The man was rushed to Tree Top Hospital immediately.
His condition was not serious, MPS cited doctors late Saturday.
While the nature of the attack is unclear, attacks have been common in recent days. As such, a taxi driver was attacked and murdered in the suburbs early December, in a case of theft.
