A fire broke out in Palm Beach Island Resort and Spa in Lhaviyani atoll, late Tuesday night.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) revealed that the fire broke out in a warehouse where dry leaves were being stored, adding that officers from its Northern Area Naifaru Fire Station were dispatched there immediately.
MNDF noted that about half of the warehouse made of tin, was damaged in the fire.
The incident is to have occurred at around 10:54pm.
The fire was extinguished by the resort staff.
