Maldives Police Service (MPS) is investigating a sexual assault case against a minor, from an island in the northern region.
A police official told RaajjeMV that the case was reported on Monday night, and that a school principal is accused of sexually assaulting a student.
While the police continue to investigate the case, it did not release any further details. Authorities do not reveal identities of such cases involving minors.
A total of 360 sexual harassment cases reported have been reported to police thus far this year.
