JSC investigates chief justice for threatening court employee

JSC announced this via a statement on Tuesday

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has launched an additional probe into Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi, for allegedly threatening the secretary general at the Supreme Court.

In a statement released on Tuesday, JSC said that the chief justice has been obstructing SG Hassan Faiz’s work, including ordering to not abide by the recent changes to the regulations of Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) made following amendments to the JSC Act.

The chief justice is to also have ordered Faiz not to communicate with anyone in DJA, after accusing him of plotting a takeover with the administration.

According to the JSC statement, the chief justice had even threatened to dismiss Faiz.

While this is one of the many disciplinary issues being investigated against Justice Abdulla Didi, he has made various allegations against both JSC and DJA, including of obstructing the administration of courts and paralyzing the judicial system.
