RaajjeMV can confirm that the Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ahmed Shiyam, had entered the parliament office late Sunday night.

A RaajjeTV journalist had witnessed Shiyam entering the building.

RaajjeTV’s senior journalist, Mohamed Wisam, said that he saw the Chief of Defence enter the parliament building at around 2:30 am on Sunday. He was in casual clothes, and was with another individual, also believed to be a military officer.

Wisam said that at the time, additional officers were active inside the building, as well as outside it.

While Shiyam went into parliament building late Sunday night, a no-confidence motion against parliament speaker Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed is scheduled for Monday.

The parliament session began at 9 am, and the motion was submitted by MP for Dhiggaru constituency Ahmed Faris Maumoon. Maseeh dismissed the motion, saying the allegations were 'baseless'.
