Will not bow to intimidation: Immigration Controller

Controller Hanafee said that Immigration will fulfill all its responsibilities and avoid any form of corruption

Immigration Controller Mohamed Ahmed Hussain (Hanafee) has said that he will not bow down to fear or intimidation.

In a tweet on Friday night, Controller Hanafee said that Immigration will fulfill all its responsibilities and avoid any form of corruption.

The Controller said that Immigration will continue to serve the people and that the problem of illegal expatriates will be solved during President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration.

Immigration has recently deported two expatriates for illegally recruiting foreign workers and for violating their work permits.

Hanafee earlier said that controlling the number of expatriates is a high priority and that there should be a limit to the number of work visas issued by the government.

While there are 144,607 foreign workers in Maldives, Immigration’s statistics show that 63,000 are in the country illegally.
