The Rainbow Recreation Club has held a blood donation drive.

The club’s president Ibthishaam Adam said that the donation drive is part of its social awareness events, and will be held every year.

The Maldives Blood Service had participated in the donation drive as well, and over 100 of its staff had donated blood.

The HealthGrove studied the impact of Thalassemia in the Maldives and concluded that over 298 lives are lost per 100,000 people annually.
