Mr Hussain reportedly gave his resignation letter due to dissatisfaction of how Immigration is being run

Immigration’s Senior Assistant Controller Hassan Hussain has resigned.

RaajjeMV understands that Mr Hussain gave his resignation letter on Monday due to dissatisfaction of how Immigration is being run.

Maldives Immigration could not be contacted.

His resignation comes at a time when people have been complaining of having to wait in long queues to receive their visas due to issues at Immigration.

Employment agencies have also been expressing concern over the newly implemented Maldives Immigration Pre-Departure Security System (MIPSS).

After MIPSS was implemented, Bangladeshi expatriates come to Maldives through five companies. Immigration has not explained why these five were given approval while there are thousands of employment agencies in Bangladesh.
