13 accidents were reported in the capital’s suburban district Hulhumalé last week.
Police’s weekly statistics, from 3-9 August, shows that 13 accidents were reported in Hulhumalé last week, as well as two assault cases and 11 theft and robbery cases.
Officers had checked a total of 442 vehicles during the week and fined 108 individuals.
Out of the 442 vehicles, police said that 20 of them lacked a valid road worthiness while 20 lacked insurance and 21 had not paid the annual fee. In addition, one minor was caught driving and 54 individuals were driving without license.
As for the routine operations, officers had checked 1511 areas with 151 body checks. Five cases were related to expatriates, and police had issued five smoking fines and one waste violation fine.
