U-15 football team: suspended players to resume practice once team returns
Players from the U-15 team were suspended over a disciplinary issue, following a video leaked online

Suspended players from the under 15 national football team will rejoin practices after the team returns from Addu City, says Football Association of Maldives (FAM) President Bassam Adeel Jaleel.

Bassam via Twitter announced that he has met with those that were kicked off the squad over a disciplinary issue last week.

The players were suspended from the team after an investigation into a video circulating on social media.

While the said video is to have been taken during a tournament held in Nepal last year, those that are still in the national team were suspended despite the ongoing UEFA Assist Under-15 International Tournament in Addu City.

In a tweet posted on Saturday, the FAM president said that he met and spoke with the under 15 team players.

He added that the suspended players “will resume training once the team returns from Addu,” adding that he hoped that they have learnt from their mistake and that “they will not repeat the same mistake.”

“This goes out to all the players in the national teams.”
