Police investigates sexual assault of minor

Police are investigating a sexual assault of an eight-year-old.
Police said that it received the sexual assault report from an island in the southern region on July 3, adding that a relative is to have committed the crime.
However, police are yet to make any arrests in the case.
Further noting that it is investigating the matter, police said that any act against a child is taken as a serious case.
It added that details of children will not be disclosed, for their protection.
