JSC submits motion to dismiss Thinadhoo Magistrate
 
The motion against Magistrate Rasheed is over a disciplinary issue
 
This is the first time JSC has submitted a motion to dismiss a judge
 
He will only be dismissed after two thirds of the present MPs votes for it

Parliament has received a motion to dismiss GDh Thinadhoo’s Magistrate Ibrahim Rasheed from the judiciary.

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) forwarded the motion after all members voted for it in their meeting on June 12.

In a tweet on Monday, JSC confirmed that a motion to dismiss Magistrate Rasheed has been submitted and stated that he will only be dismissed after two thirds of the present MPs votes for it.

This is the first time JSC has submitted a motion to dismiss a judge.

While the motion against Magistrate Rasheed is over a disciplinary issue, JSC has also received a complaint regarding R. Maakurathu Magistrate Adnan Hussain sexually harassing and casting black magic on three of the court’s female employees.
