State Electric Company (STELCO) Managing Director Hassan Mughnee has said that they will be initiating major projects this year.

Managing Director Mughnee said this while speaking at the ceremony to celebrate STELCO’s 22-year anniversary on Sunday.

At the ceremony, Mughnee said STELCO should use the latest technology to expand and improve its services to match the developed countries and that pilot projects will be launched this year including a major solar-based project.

He also said that STELCO employees should always strive to be professional and exemplary in their work.

Highlighting STELCO’s financial trouble, Mughnee said that capacity building had slowed in the past few years but has begun improving again.
