Police have apprehended 11 suspects in a drug bust in capital Malé City.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) said that they were arrested during a raid at Everest-Aage in the Maafannu ward, following a tip of possible drug sales, on Monday.
Arrested are eight Maldivian men between the ages of 23 and 38, as well as three Bangladeshis between 23 to 30 years.
During the raid, police found a rubber packet with suspected narcotics, as well as a substance covered in paper.
Police said that they had to smash the wall to enter the house, due to the iron gates planted at the entrance.
Last week, police arrested 37 Maldivians in a drug bust in the capital.
