Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has met with his counterpart from Bangladesh, AK Abdul Momen.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 14th summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
Shahid said that it was a “pleasure” meeting with the Bangladeshi foreign minister, and that they discussed ways “to enhance further areas of cooperation on a wide range of issues.”

The foreign minister traveled to Jeddah on Tuesday, to attend the Foreign Ministers Meeting, held on May 29.
He said that it was an “honour” to be among his colleagues of the OIC member states.
“Looking forward to discussions on challenges faced by our Islamic Ummah,” he added.
Some of the minister’s other meetings
With Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safadi of Jordan, and discussed “ways on further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.”

With Indonesian Foreign Minster Retno Marsudi, where both parties discussed “mutual areas of interest and cooperation.”

With Egypt’s Sameh Hassan Shoukry, and discussed “ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.”

With Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al Jubeir, and held a discussion on Maldives’ intention “to open a consulate in Jeddah in the near future.”
