Authorities have decided to have a postmortem of the baby of a minor.

Police on Monday confirmed that it had received a report of a 15-year-old giving birth, and that the offspring had passed away.

While police, who asks to refrain from sharing any personal information in the case as it involves a minor, has not revealed any details in the matter, RaajjeMV understands that the girl had given birth in a bathroom.

The 15-yo old girl required medical attention, after suffering a hemorrhage from the umbilical cord, and was taken to the island’s health center.

According to a RaajjeMV source from the island, she required a blood transfusion.

The source said that the girl is in the ninth grade, and that she had attended classes “until recently.”

Noting that the island’s residents were not aware of the situation, the source believes that the girl’s family were aware of her pregnancy.

RaajjeMV understands that police have made an arrest in the case.
