The driver of the bus that ran over and killed an Ukranian tourist on Monday morning, has been remanded for three days.
The 31-year-old had died in the accident in Hulhumalé, after being run over by the bus. It is believed that the driver had fallen asleep behind the wheel.
While the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) driver was presented to Criminal Court for his remand hearing on Tuesday, the court had issued him a three-day remand.
The police continue to investigate the accident.

There have been complaints of safety issues on the MTCC-operated buses, with increased reports of speeding and reckless driving.
