A series of coordinated bombings shocked Sri Lanka on April 21, killing over 250 people.
While thousands of Maldivians reside in Lanka, Ambassador Razzaq and team have been monitoring the situation there and helping out Maldivians in need of assistance.
There have been reports that a number of Maldivians living there do not have valid visas, and the embassy has been helping individuals to obtain the required visa to return home.
In addition, around 10 Maldivians have been arrested since the attack, and four are remanded until May 10; four students were released to their families.
