Employees of Fenaka have held a celebratory event for no longer being forced to join political activities.
The state utilities company stated that its new management has ended the practice of forcing employees to join political events.

Fenaka’s executives have said that the previous administration of President Abdulla Yameen had used the company’s employees and resources for their political activities, and sometimes move employees to different islands for political work.
They have stated that Fenaka has ended this practice as the wellbeing of employees is critical to the company’s aim to serve the public.
