The swimming area of Artificial Beach in the Henveiru ward of capital city Male’ is to be closed for a month.
In a press release on Wednesday, the Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure stated that the swimming area will be closed from April 13 as part of the renovations at Artificial Beach.
The Ministry stated that parts of the beach will be closed at different times during their development work.
Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) was tasked with the project by the previous administration.
Developing Artificial Beach is part of incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s first 100 day’s pledges.
