The Maldives Food and Drug Authority (FDA) has begun investigating claims that that plastic eggs are being sold in the Maldives.
The Health Ministry said in a tweet that the FDA is investigating the issue, though the International Network of Food Safety Authorities (INFOSAN) is yet to receive information of it.

Prior to this, there had been reports of artificial rice that surfaced as well, however no such claim has been confirmed by the authorities.
