The last sittings of the 18th parliamentary term will commence next Monday.
The parliament administration has confirmed this, adding that Speaker Qasim Ibrahim made the decision after discussions with the parliamentary group leaders.
While there are three parliament sessions every year, the first session will conclude on April 30.
The 18th parliament will be dissolved on May 28, when the newly elected MPs take oath of office.
87 new lawmakers were elected on Saturday, two more than the previous terms. 386 candidates competed for the seats in the 19th People’s Majlis.
The new parliament will commence work on June 1, when parliament reconvenes after recess.
