The Women’s Run 2019 held in Hulhumale’ on Friday has received wide praise.

The run was held at the Hulhumale’ Central Park from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.

The purpose of the event is to empower women and promote a healthy lifestyle and many participants highlighted the importance of such events to bring the community together.

Heritage Minister Yumna Maumoon, who inaugurated the event, told RaajjeMV that women should participate more in these events to show that they are more capable than just handling household chores.

More than 2,000 women joined the run and the top 10 winners were given awards and the opportunity to participate in the Dubai Women’s Run in November.

Local company N-Range Maldives, which hosted the event, stated that they plan to hold a Women’s Run next year as well.
