An elderly tourist who was spending the holidays at a guesthouse in AA. Thoddoo was found dead at sea on Sunday.
The police stated that the body of the 70-year-old Chinese man was found near Madivaru Finolhu.
He was pronounced dead-on-arrival at the atoll hospital and the body is to be brought to capital city Male’. The police stated that there were no outward signs of injury.
The number of tourist deaths this year is now 10.
Due to the number of tourist drownings, the military, the tourism ministry, and councils are working together to monitor and tighten security at resorts.
