Mariyam Shafeeq has been appointed Managing Director of Aasandha Company.

In a tweet on Tuesday, the Privatization and Corporatization Board confirmed that she is now the MD of the national health insurance company.

Mariyam earlier held the position of Technical Manager at Allied Insurance Company, CEO of National Social Protection Agency, and had also worked at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

She has achieved a Masters of Science in Health Economics from Chulalongkorn University.

Two non-executive members were also appointed to the Aasandho board, they are Amila Latheef and Mohamed Amir.
