A list of the flat recipients of the previous government’s social housing schemes has been released by the President’s Office.
President Abdulla Yameen’s administration has been accused of ignoring the most qualified candidates when giving out the housing units.
On Monday, the President’s Office released 20 lists with names of over 14,000 flat recipients along with their addresses and the points they had received during the vetting process.
The list includes names of the Male’ registered flat recipients, atoll natives, newlyweds, doctors, nurses, teachers, single parents, and people with special needs.
The President’s Office stated that they are now accepting complaints regarding the distribution of flats for the Hiyaa, Gedhoru Vehi Kurun, and Gulhifalhu housing projects. The opportunity will be closed on March 25.
