Head coach of Maziya Sports Club, Marjan Sekulovski has applauded the team’s performance against Club Valencia, in the season opener on Thursday.
Maziya beat Valencia, 1-0, in the Charity Shield match held on Thursday evening.
Speaking to journalists after the match, the Macedonian applauded the team’s performance, noting that they had been in control during most of the match.
“We played a good match. You must be clever, one goal decides who will win the match. We played attacking football, Valencia played defensive football, it was dangerous for us,” said the coach.
Noting that as a coach, it brings him joy when his team wins, Sekulovski said that Maziya must work for a better score-line in the season.
The only goal in Thursday’s match was scored by Asadhulla Abdulla, in the 72nd minute of the game.
Ooredoo Dhivehi League is to begin on February 24, between Maziya- last year's winners- and Club Eagles.
