Addu accident victim dies in hospital

A youth injured in an accident in Addu City earlier this month, has died in hospital.

The accident took place on November 6, and the 18-year-old male- native to Fonadhoo island of Laamu atoll- was transferred to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in capital city Malé for further treatment.

It is reported that the accident took place after the motorcycle he was travelling in lost control. The young man is to have sustained serious internal injuries, having fallen off the cycle.

Details of his injuries have not been publicized.

While there was a second individual on the motorcycle, it is not clear on who was in control of it.
