The parliament has scheduled the proposal of State Budget 2019, for Tuesday.

It is the only item on the agenda for the parliament’s eighth sitting of the third session of 2018.

The finance ministry sent the proposed budget to parliament secretariat on October 31; it is legally obligated to send the upcoming year’s state budget by this date. Finance Minister Ahmed Munawwar is to present the budget on the parliament floor on Tuesday.

RaajjeMV understands that the proposed budget for next year is MVR 29 billion.

According to the ministry, the proposed budget considers the financial requirements of incoming president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration.

The approved state budget for this year was MVR 27.9 billion.
