The state-run Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has asked households vacating their residences in Malé for the upcoming holidays to register for trash collection cessation.

WAMCO released a circular on Thursday that instructs those who wish to have trash collection services suspended to apply for it. Application forms for cessation of service, for absolutely no charge, are now available.

WAMCO says that the application must be submitted five working days prior to the date on which to cease services. Only households that required cessation for five days or more are eligible.

WAMCO is a state-operated enterprise that holds itself specially to carry out waste management in the greater Malé area.
