Pakistani PM accepts president-elect's invitation to visit Maldives
 
PM Imran had telephoned the president-elect on Monday, to congratulate him on election win

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has accepted President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s invitation to visit Maldives.

According to Pakistan Today, the newly sworn in PM called Solih on Monday to congratulate him on his victory in the presidential election.

Highlighting that the Maldives ‘is entering a new era’, PM Imran expressed hope that the Maldives and its people ‘would achieve great success and prosperity’ under the newly elected president’s leadership.

“Both leaders reiterated their resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations already characterized by cordiality, religious affinity, and close cooperation,” said Pakistan Today, adding that they also expressed ‘a desire to work closely on issues of mutual interest’.

Thanking Imran, President-elect Solih invited him to visit the Maldives ‘at a mutually convenient date’, which was accepted by the PM.
