Adhaalath Party is integral to multi-party democracy in Maldives: MDP
MDP said that the party is one led by a strong leader and run by tireless and committed members
MDP commended the Adhaalath Party for their ‘consistent efforts towards attaining and upholding the civil rights of the Maldivain people'

Adhaalath Party’s efforts in lobbying for the civil rights of the Maldivian people makes them integral to multi-party democracy in the Maldives, the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has said.

In a statement commemorating Adhaalath Party’s 13th anniversary, their coalition partner MDP said that the party is one led by a strong leader and run by tireless and committed members.

MDP highlighted that they have worked with the party across many political and social avenues, and that they are integral to the multi-party democracy in the Maldives.

MDP commended the Adhaalath Party for their ‘consistent efforts towards attaining and upholding the civil rights of the Maldivain people’.

Further, in their statement the MDP said that the reform efforts of their party, the Adhaalath Party, the Jumhooree Party, and former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s ‘Maumoon Reform Movement’ is crucial to the country.

The Adhaalath Party signed a coalition agreement with MDP and the aforesaid parties in 2017. The party's leader, Sheikh Imran Abdulla is serving a jail sentence on terror allegations described as trumped up.
