Hassan Saeed Hussain has been dismissed as the administrator of the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA).
Saeed was one of the first people arrested after the government declared a state of emergency on February 5, regarding the controversial Supreme Court ruling on February 1 which ordered the release of political prisoners and reinstatement of opposition MPs.
However, Saeed was dimissed recently, on the 10th of July.
He was arrested on allegations of bribing the Supreme Court justices and has been charged with obstruction of the state duties for hiding while police sought his arrest. Police have said that they have witness statements confirming that he had bribed the justices.
It is noteworthy that the Criminal Court has recently slowed down the trial proceedings against those charged with the overthrow of the government.
Police searched Saeed’s apartment in February and stated that they found a large number of cash under his bed.
