Vilingili Constituency Member of Parliament Saud Hussain has been dismissed from the ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) President Yameen’s faction.

Raajje.mv understands that the Ethics Committee of the Yameen faction reviewed the case on Monday and was dismissed by the unanimous vote of the five-member Committee.

A letter sent by the Committee to the Parliamentarian said that it was against the Party laws to criticize the Party’s ideology, adding that he had allied with the opposition and taken to public forums and social media to criticize the Party and Party views.

Saud had recently joined the opposition. Following this he was dismissed from the PPM PG Viber Group as well. He has been a staunch supporter of the President Maumoon, claiming that PPM was Maumoon and Maumoon is PPM.

Following his alliance with the opposition some of Saud’s relatives has also been dismissed from their Government positions.
