TC Sports Club beat Bangladeshi team, Dhaka Abahani Limited 1-0 on Saturday, in their first match in the Sheikh Kamal International Cup 2017.
TC’s winning goal was scored by Ibrahim Mahudhee, in the 15th minute of the game.
TC, who played a strong game, got numerous opportunities to score against Dhaka Abahani Limited.
The Bangladeshi team, who came out strong during the second half, was unable to score against the Maldivian team.
Before leaving for the tournament, TC’s head coach, Mohamed “Nizambe” Nizam told RaajjeMV that the team’s goal was “to win gold” at the Sheikh Kamal Cup.
Noting that the team was “fully prepared”, Nizam getting such an opportunity will be beneficial to the club, especially “experience-wise.”
A total of six countries are competing in this year’s Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup 2017.
The annual tournament, is registered under FIFA and AFC, and was first held in 2015.
