Teams from Shaviyani Foakaidhoo and Thaa Thimarafushi have headed to the finals of STO's Minivan Championship.
Thimarafushi secured their spot in the finals after beating Baa Fehendhoo team with a score of 1-2 in the first match of the semi finals held on Friday.
Thimarafushi had travelled to the semi finals as the first team in Group A.
The first goal of the first semi final match was scored by Ahmed Thohir followed by their second goal from foreign player Quasi Jean. Fehendhoo's goal was scored by Adam Naseem.
The winning goal scored by Quasi secured Thimarafushi a spot in the finals, throughout the extra time after the match had concluded with a draw.
Meanwhile Foakaidhoo had reached the finals after beating Faafu Nilandhoo team 0-2 in the second match of the semi finals played on Saturday.
Foakaidhoo had travelled to the semi finals as the first team in Group B.
The first goal from Foakaidhoo team was scored by Mohamed Farish followed by a goal from Hussain Nishan.
Thimarafushi had reached the finals in the Minivan Championship of 2016 as well. That year Baa Eydhafushi had taken home the championship title.
Although Fehendhoo and Nilandhoo teams had taken a loss in the semi finals, they have been qualified for the Dhivehi Premier League along with finalists Thimarafushi and Foakaidhoo teams.
STO Male' League's top six teams will be competing in the Premier League along with the four teams from the Minivan Championship.
The final match of this year's Minivan Championship will take place in capital city Male' Galolhu National Stadium on the 10th of May, Thursday.
