The Maldives Police Service has relieved Abdulla Ibrahim, the former commander of the special operations unit, from duty.

Abdulla Ibrahim was removed by the police’s disciplinary board after concluding an investigation involving him.

He was one of the officers who were transferred from the stations in capital city Malé to separate ones in the outlying islands.

The police declined to provide a comment on the matter.
