The Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture has again said that they are working to establish a veterinary clinic, as it had last year as well.

The fisheries ministry said in an announcement on their website last week that they are working to establish a temporary veterinary clinic in the capital city’s suburban extension, Villimalé.

The announcement said that the clinic will primarily be used for surgeries and other inpatient care.

The ministry already provides a ‘mobile veterinary’ service, through which a state-employed physician makes house-calls.

Last year, the government announced plans to establish a veterinary clinic along with an herbarium in Villimalé.

While the project was seized reportedly ‘due to lack of support’, the government revealed its intention to provide such a service in December of 2016 as well.
